The Inspiring Communities Trust
Inspiring Communities is an initiative of The Inspiring Communities Trust. The Trust has charitable status and is registered with the Charities Commission (CC35794). Donations to the Trust qualify for tax rebates.
The Trust was known as The Community-Led Development Trust prior to November 2010 when the name was formally changed.

The Deed sets out the Purpose of the Trust, and its Principles, as follows:
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Trust will be:
To benefit communities by inspiring and focussing national interest in effective approaches to community building, collaborating and community-led development.
To benefit communities in New Zealand by activities such as:
Demonstrating leadership for community-led development and collaboration
Supporting, and learning from, local innovative community-led collaborative initiatives
Promoting community-led development to funders, business, government and citizens
Providing advice, mentoring, consultancy and resources
Fostering connections between local community-led initiatives, through the sharing of experience and active learning
Undertaking action research that tests and re-shapes community-led development
Positively influencing policy and good practice to reflect community-led development.
PRINCIPLES
In particular the Trust will:
Ensure that the information and intellectual property created remains in public ownership and is readily accessible
Acknowledge integrity and mana of culturally defined strengths /taonga
Recognise the Treaty of Waitangi as a founding agreement for New Zealand
Operate at a sustainable pace and with sustainable processes
Always undertake high quality work
Adopt an integrated approach of social, economic and environmental development
Provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose.
